This scholarship is not opening for applications for Semester 2, 2026.
The Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management (DPFEM) and the University of Tasmania wishes to encourage lifelong learning of employees, building an adaptive and reflective workforce equipped with the skills and knowledge to transform access to justice and emergency response, across all regions of Tasmania. To support this aim, DPFEM has endowed a scholarship to be made available to outstanding members of the Department studying at the University of Tasmania.
Applicants should forward a copy of the referee's report to two referees.
Eligibility
- Available to DPFEM employees* commencing or continuing with undergraduate or postgraduate coursework studies in Semester 1, 2027.
- Selection will be based on the following criteria:
- organisational need,
- work performance and professional conduct,
- quality of written application, and
- ability to complete the workload associated with the course of study.
- IMPORTANT - Applicants must have a course offer for Semester 1, 2027 and/or be enrolled in the unit/s they would like the scholarship to cover.
- *Open to Tasmania Police, BES and FSST employees only.

Amount
Funding for coursework tuition fees up to the value of $5,000.
