Overview

This scholarship is funded by a generous bequest gifted to the University from the late Christopher Andrew Rathbone, a Park Ranger and Environmental Consultant.
Mr Rathbone’s donation has established an endowment at the University, which will support an annual scholarship, in perpetuity, to encourage excellence in the broad area of Environmental Studies.

Eligibility

  • This scholarship is available to students commencing Honours at the University of Tasmania.
  • Selection will be based on demonstrated excellence in Environmental Studies as indicated by academic merit (grade point average across the second and particularly the third year of study in the chosen discipline).
  • Applicants must also demonstrate evidence of research strength in Environmental Studies as provided by the research proposal.
  • Applicants must contact their School Honours Coordinator prior to applying to ensure the availability of an appropriate supervisor and the capacity of the relevant School to provide support for the proposed project.
  • Students undertaking Environmental Studies in a broad range of fields like Ecology, Earth Sciences, Geography and Spatial Sciences are encouraged to apply.

  • Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
