Overview

This fund was first established in 1969 to assist students with financial need in the Faculty of Medicine in honour of J. Bruce Hamilton.

Eligibility

  • Available to a commencing student enrolled in the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Tasmania in Semester 1, 2026.
  • Selection will be based on the applicant’s demonstration of financial need.
  • Preference may be given to students who have to reside away from home in order to attend university or, because of family or other commitments, have to travel a significant distance to attend a university campus.

On-going Eligibility

  • Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
