Overview
This scholarship has been endowed from the estates of the late Eric Jeffrey and the late Elsie Jeffrey. Eric Jeffrey graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Arts in 1910 and with a Master of Arts in 1912. Eric and Elsie Jeffrey made a generous bequest in their Wills, to honour Eric’s father and Elsie’s father-in law, John Jeffrey, and to support English Literature students at the University of Tasmania by offering scholarships.
Eligibility
- Available to a student who has completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Tasmania in Arts or Law and is commencing Honours in English Literature in 2026.
- Selection will be based on satisfactory achievement during undergraduate studies.
- The successful recipient will be expected to make at least one formal presentation on their Honours project to students in the College of Arts, Law and Education and the wider community during the period of their scholarship.
On-going Eligibility
- Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
