This Scholarship was established through a donation from Frances Tyler and matched by the University, to recognise the service of Kate Robertson, former Executive Director Advancement. Kate Robertson, hailed from the UK, where she held several fundraising positions with prestigious arts institutes including the Royal Academy of Arts, Tate Gallery Liverpool and the English National Opera. She has worked in the field of Advancement since she graduated from the University of Liverpool (UK) in 1990 holding the position of Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the Universities of Liverpool and Nottingham in the UK, and Chief Engagement Officer at Adelaide University.Kate was at the University of Tasmania from March 2019 to September 2021 and in establishing this Scholarship, Frances Tyler noted her admiration of Kate’s professionalism and her friendship. Along with her late husband, Geoffrey, Frances¿¿s support have led to the establishment of The Tyler Collection, a rich and diverse collection consisting primarily of communist-era Romanian art, but also contains artworks from Australia, Europe, Africa and the USA.

Eligibility

Available to a student who is commencing study in a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Selection will be based on financial need and academic merit.

  • Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
