Overview
This scholarship is offered in memory of the late Professor Newton Barber, who was the first professor of botany at the University of Tasmania. Professor Barber set the current research strengths for Plant Science in pea and eucalypt genetics.
Eligibility
- Available to a student commencing honours in botany within the School of Natural Sciences, Discipline of Biological Sciences, in Semester 1, 2027.
- Selection will be based on academic merit.
- Candidates should also be aware that some University-wide scholarships are applicable for Botany projects – this can be discussed with the Biological Sciences honours co-ordinator: elizabeth.wandrag@utas.edu.au
