Overview
The North Hobart Football Club is a proud club, rich in history and one of the most famous football clubs in Australia. Founded in 1881 it is also one of the oldest and, with 28 premierships, it is the second-most successful football club in a city-based football competition in Australia. The club also boasts over 58 players having gone on to play in the AFL and the former VFL (prior to the start of the AFL.) The club also provides modern facilities, training resources, coaches, specialised physios, sports trainers and high-performance staff to support aspirational players. The North Hobart Football Club is committed to supporting high calibre football players who wish to pursue Higher Education the University of Tasmania and have a desire to play football at a club level in the Greater Hobart area.
Eligibility
- Available to a commencing or continuing student who can demonstrate a talent and commitment to AFL football.
- Preference will be given to students who intend to or have recently relocated to Hobart to study
- Selection will be based on the following criteria:
- AFL skill i.e. representative levels and success at those levels.
- Academic achievement and potential to succeed at university.
- Leadership skills and experiences.
- Community involvement.
- The selected student must be able to play for the North Hobart Football Club in the coming season
On-going Eligibility
- Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
