Overview
The scholarship supporting a student in early childhood education stemmed from the donor’s own support from a Tasmanian Education Department scholarship for trainee pre-school teachers who once needed to study on the mainland as there was no training available in Tasmania. This gift is to assist students who have a particular interest in the very important area of early-childhood education and also encourages applications from individuals working in childcare who are upgrading to a teaching degree.
Eligibility
- Available to a Tasmanian student commencing an Early Childhood Teaching qualification at the University of Tasmania. (In 2026 this is the combined degree Bachelor of Education (Primary) and Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood).
- Selection will be based the applicants demonstrated passion for Early Childhood Education, financial need and academic merit.
On-going Eligibility
- Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
