Bell Bay Aluminium (BBA) smelter began operating in 1955 and holds a unique place in Tasmanian and Australian history as the first aluminium smelter In the Southern Hemisphere. Bell Bay Aluminium is proud to support the Allied Health Scholarship at the University of Tasmania to help remove financial barriers to higher education and support the development of skilled allied health professionals in Tasmania. Bell Bay Aluminium recognises the vital role allied health plays in supporting the wellbeing and resilience of individuals and communities, particularly in regional areas. Through this scholarship, Bell Bay Aluminium aims to invest in local talent and contribute to positive, long term outcomes for Tasmania’s health workforce and communities.
Eligibility
- Be enrolled or intending to enrol in a Master of Physiotherapy or Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of Tasmania in Semester 2, 2026.
- Financial need demonstrated by your written application, outlining how the scholarship will support your academic succes.
- Expressed passion and commitment to work in Tasmania, demonstrated through a written statement.
- Express motivation and passion for Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, demonstrated through a written statement.
- Preference will be given to applicants from Northern Tasmania, including the Tamar Valley region, which encompasses the George Town Council, West Tamar Council, City of Launceston, Dorset, and Northern Midlands local government areas.
On-going Eligibility
- Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
