This scholarship is not opening for applications for Semester 1, 2027.
This scholarship is provided in memory of Tim Hawkins, a commerce/law graduate of the University who was tragically killed in the Bali bombing in 2002.
The scholarship will allow the recipient to take up a position in either the Judges' Chambers or in the Office of the Prosecutor for 9-12 months at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
Applicants should forward a copy of the referee's report to two referees.
Eligibility
- Available to a recent University of Tasmania law graduate with outstanding results in international law and related units.
- The recipient must be available to take up the position in The Hague for a period of nine to twelve months in November or December of 2026
On-going Eligibility
- Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester

Up to $25,000 (plus the cost of a return economy airfare from nearest capital city to The Hague up to $4,500)
