IMPORTANT - International students completing Years 11 and 12 onshore in Australia can also apply for the same scholarships available to domestic students so long as they meet the eligibility requirements.

Scholarships for continuing international students

If you have completed at least one semester of studies at the University of Tasmania, you will be eligible to apply for scholarships available to all continuing students (domestic and international).

Relocation Support Allowance (International Students residing in Australia)

Overview

The University of Tasmania is offering a limited number of relocation support packages to assist international students currently living on the mainland of Australia with the costs of relocating to Tasmania to attend University. There are two support packages from which eligible students are able to select.

Eligibility

Available to international students currently residing on the mainland of Australia to assist with the costs of relocating to Tasmania to commence full-time study in July 2021 in any undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program.

Ongoing eligibility

To retain the relocation allowance (cash payment) component, recipients are required to be enrolled full time (75% study load) in their first study period.

Value

Applicants can select from three types of available support packages:

Option 1: $3,000 relocation/travel allowance (cash payment);

Option 2: $5,000 total: $1,000 relocation/travel allowance (cash payment) plus $4,000 university accommodation subsidy.

Please note that for Option 2 the university accommodation subsidy component will be paid towards the accommodation costs in a single room at one of the University's accommodation complexes in either Hobart or Launceston (see link below for options). It will be paid directly to Student Accommodation on behalf of the student.

To be eligible for the accommodation subsidy, students must apply for University accommodation and cover the application fee and bond (these costs are not covered by this support package).
