In 2019, the World Health Organization named vaccine hesitancy as one of the 10 biggest health threats facing the world. Short course: Vaccine Hesitancy investigates underlying factors that influence vaccine uptake, the varying degrees of indecision about vaccines, and confronts common misconceptions and the risk that vaccine hesitancy poses on the community. The course details vaccine safety in Australia and strategies that we can use to support public trust in vaccines.

No prior knowledge is required to complete this short course

Short Course: Vaccine Hesitancy is estimated to take approximately 3 hours to complete . A transcript will be provided upon completion.

The cost of this training is $150 inc.  GST.

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Understand the relationship between vaccine coverage, adverse events, vaccine hesitancy and disease spread
  • Explain public tolerance of the risks associated with vaccines, and the impact of vaccine hesitancy on disease spread
  • Explain the Therapeutic Goods Administration safety measures to ensure approval and ongoing safety surveillance
  • Describe opportunities to support public trust in vaccines
