This 'Just in Time' training investigates factors that influence vaccine uptake and the varying degrees of indecision about vaccines. We confront common misconceptions, evidence-based use of vaccines and vaccine safety, the risk that vaccine hesitancy poses to the community and practical actions to address the global health threat.

No prior knowledge is required to complete this short course

This JIT training will take approximately 3-5 hours of study. A transcript will be provided upon completion.

The cost of this training is $150 incl. GST.

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Understand the relationship between vaccine coverage, adverse events, vaccine hesitancy and disease spread
  • Explain public tolerance of the risks associated with vaccines, and the impact of vaccine hesitancy on disease spread
  • Explain the Therapeutic Goods Administration safety measures to ensure approval and ongoing safety surveillance
  • Describe opportunities to support public trust in vaccines
