University Basketball League (UBL)

Giving university students across Australia an opportunity to compete against each other.

"I am so excited about the competitive standard of the UBL and the quality of players in the other teams. The UBL is another high-level competition for players who can also be studying at the same time which means we do not have to choose between sport and study.”

Wrap  up of the 2023 UBL Season

After 9 grueling weeks of games, both our men's and women's teams finished the season on a high, with only 5 or 6 points coming in the way of moving on through the finals.

Considering 2023 was the first year competing in the University Basketball League! The inaugural season came at a perfect time for students, who used to need to go abroad if they wanted to both study and participate in national-level basketball.

Zoe Banks, a star player on the women's team, was nervous about going to America to play ball due to the potential complications of needing to requalify to play Australian basketball later on. Now, she gets to pursue her goal of playing in the WNBL right here in Tasmania.
