| About Me | I am currently honours co-ordinator and lecture in Computer Security. Out of work, I am the chair of the Tasmanian branch of the Australian Computer Society. A few years ago I changed my research interests from spatial systems to computer security. I am interested in issues related to consent and intruder detection. I am especiialy interested in developing techniques to detect whether users of systems are behaving 'badly' from audit logs. This includes looking for authorised users within a system who are misusuing their levels of authorisation and outside users who are attacking systems. Recently I have been working on using this approach with RFID systems. The opposite approach is to look at ways of building systems that can enforce the desired levels of granularity in access control so that it becomes harder for users to behave in unwanted ways and easier to detect when breaches occur. Previously I was interested in spatial systems, especially spatial analysis using artificial intelligence techniques and spatial decision support systems. |
