Founded in 1964, the Conservatorium has a long history of training performers, composers, educators and industry professionals who contribute to musical life across Australia and beyond. That legacy continues today in Hobart’s Hedberg and at Inveresk in Launceston, where we are embedded in a dynamic arts precinct that brings together education, professional practice and community.
Students immerse themselves in a rich program of ensembles, performances, recording, and collaborative learning. Ensemble practice sits at the heart of our approach, alongside specialisations spanning classical performance, jazz and popular music, composition, songwriting, music technology, and music for media.
