Things to do

Check your blood pressure
Get your free blood pressure check by University of Tasmania students studying medicine, pharmacy, nursing, exercise physiology or physiotherapy. These students will also chat to you about general health-related issues that may be of concern and discuss strategies to improve your health and well-being.

Decrease your dementia risk
Unlock the secrets to improving your brain health. Discover the 12 modifiable dementia risk factors you can influence to reduce your risk of dementia, and talk to us about what the latest research says.

Test your strength
Grip strength test your hands! This can be a good indicator of general strength and wellbeing, and test your physical agility. University students will be on-hand to provide information about how to improve your strength, agility and physical well-being.

Kids’ activities
There are fun, creative activities for children. Make a hand cream, with your choice of essential oils, have a finger plastered by a medical student, and test your sporting skills.

Why the HealthStop?
HealthStop is a great opportunity for our students, and future health careers, to practice important skills that will serve them well to help improve the health of the Tasmanian community.

Academics from the University of Tasmania and General Practitioners are on hand to supervise and support our students. HealthStop@Agfest is supported by the University and the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
