Workshops

Hygrothermal Simulation Workshop

WUFI is transient hygrothermal simulation software that is used to analyse hygrothermal behaviour, showing the occurrence of condensation and mould within buildings. This is an introductory session with some examples of work done at the University of Tasmania.

Registered attendees will be emailed about licensing and installation of WUFI on their own laptops before attending.

This workshop is part of the Architectural Science Association Conference held at the Inveresk Campus of the University of Tasmania, delegates to the conference, please choose the free ticket. The workshop will be lead by Dr. Mark Dewsbury with the assistance of PhD students David Tanton and Freya Su.

The workshop will be held in the River's Edge building at Inveresk Room IR.IR11L01120.

Reserve your spot at Eventbrite, free for delegates.

Wednesday 29th November 2023, 1:00pm to 4:00pm - Rivers Edge, Inveresk Campus

DesignBuilder Workshop

The session is designed to be an interactive lecture/demonstration/workshop on building thermal performance analysis using the DesignBuilder (DB) software suite. DB is a 3D GUI for EnergyPlus (USDOE) and Radiance (originally USDOE, now community maintained) simulation engines. These engines are well researched and documented, and can be difficult to use in their native environments.

The workshop will introduce the capabilities of DesignBuilder. Attendees will have the opportunity to install the software and work on a pre-configured example building model. The emphasis will be on modelling houses.

The workshop will be led by PC Thomas, Director, Team Catalyst, IBPSA Fellow, Adjunct Associate Prof at The University of Sydney and Principal DesignBuilder Software Australia. PC has been using simulation programs for 35+ years.

An MS Windows laptop, 8GB RAM, a mouse and an internet connection are required to trial the software. Or just come along to interact!

Registered attendees will be emailed about licensing and installation of software on their own laptops before attending.

The workshop will be held in the River's Edge building at Inveresk Room IR.IR11L01119

Reserve your spot at Eventbrite, free for delegates.

Wednesday 29th November 2023, 1:00pm to 4:00pm - Rivers Edge, Inveresk Campus

Social Events
