Zoologist and researcher Dr Rodrigo Hamede, for example, is part of a team using AI and camera traps to monitor the spread of Devil Facial Tumour Disease in wild Tasmanian devil populations. His work is helping to protect this iconic species and provides students with the opportunity to be involved in meaningful, hands-on fieldwork.
