Through partnerships with local schools, businesses, and community organisations, the West Coast Financial Literacy Project embeds financial education into everyday life via resources, workshops, pop-up clinics, and integration into schools.
Recognising the unique financial challenges faced by the community, the project delivers tailored, practical solutions. A key feature is the train-the-trainer model, which equips educators, community leaders, and guardians with the tools to sustain financial education beyond the life of the project.
The program is being co-designed with the community to ensure relevance and ownership, and will be delivered across Rosebery, Queenstown, Zeehan, and Strahan. Support from the University of Tasmania's Tax Clinic and Psychology Clinic and integration into the University's Initial Teacher Education (ITE) courses further strengthens its sustainability.
