Introduction

In this unit you will learn the principles of cost management for estimating and controlling construction project costs. You will learn about time-variable, value-variable and fixed costs, and how these relate to calculating profits and overheads. Through applied activities, you will develop your skills in analysing and quantifying project scope to identify critical drivers of project costs, interpreting cost reports to compare project expenditure against budgeted costs, and communicating cost information.
