Students are expected to attend master classes and take the opportunity to hear and see visiting artists specific to their field of study (i.e. classical or contemporary).

Student who complete FCP120 but do not meet the standard required for a pass result or higher, will be withdrawn from the course without academic penalty - a failure (NN) result is not recorded on the academic transcript.

Continues the course of vocal, instrumental or compositional study undertaken in Foundation Practical Study (FCP113).

Teaching Pattern

As set by individual school/colleges equivalent to a TASC "C" course of study. Suggested 3 timetabled lessons per week including 1 x 60 min specialist lesson.

Assessment

Instrumental/vocal strand: Mid-year Recital (15%), end of year Recital (65%) and written portfolio presentation (20%).

Composition strand: Mid-year Presentation (15%), end of year Presentation and performance (65%) and written portfolio presentation (20%).
