Dissertation Part 2 unit (CNA446)

This unit is only available for students who have successfully completed CNA450 and CNA418; or are studying CNA418 in the same semester.

Introduction

This is the second of three linked dissertation units. In this unit, students continue their research under the guidance of a supervisor or supervisors. The type of work undertaken in this unit will reflect the specific research project, but there is an expectation that students will complete their data collection. The work undertaken in CNA446 contributes to the development of the research project that will be reported in the thesis submitted for examination in CNA474: Dissertation Part 3.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify researchable problem/s and question/s that are relevant to nursing.
  • Justify the proposed methodological and analytical research decisions through identification and critique of the evidence base relevant to the chosen research area.
  • Apply foundational methodological skills to conduct a research study in an area of interest relevant to nursing.
  • Make progress writing a dissertation which will have a maximum length of 16,000 words. The dissertation will report the process and findings of the research project.
