Introduction

This unit introduces the determinants of health and wellbeing including lifestyle, social and cultural factors. Students are introduced to the types of measures that are used in reporting health information and the ways in which this information is presented and utilised. Students will learn the importance of health measures and develop practical skills required to analyse and present health data and interpret the results. The unit will demonstrate the purpose of different methods of assessing human health, the statistical techniques used to analyse heath data, and how this information may be used to inform health choices, health policy, and practice.
