Introduction

The rapid growth of e-commerce in recent years, coupled with increasing urbanization, has impacted all dimensions of freight logistics and led to a considerable increase in freight movements in urban areas. JNB738 e-Commerce Logistics Management covers various topics including e-commerce business models, omnichannel retailing and distribution network design, urban logistics externalities and operational challenges, improvement initiatives, last-mile delivery models, freight data and modelling, and sustainability in e-commerce logistics. Through case studies and practical applications, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the interconnections between e-commerce logistics and urban freight transport. By the end of this Unit, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop sustainable and effective strategies in these rapidly evolving fields.
