National Centre for Transformation in Emergency Response and Resilience (NCTERR)

Strengthening Australia's emergency and disaster preparedness, response and recovery

About

The National Centre for Transformation in Emergency Response and Resilience (NCTERR) has been established by the University of Tasmania's School of Paramedicine and Public Safety as a national initiative dedicated to strengthening Australia’s emergency and disaster preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities.

Bringing together research, education, and sector partnerships, the Centre will build workforce capability, foster innovation, and support resilient communities across Tasmania and beyond, with a focus on rural and regional areas.

NCTERR responds to the accelerating systemic risks facing emergency response services and systems around the world: climate change-induced disasters and impacts of growing frequency and severity; heightened geopolitical tension, unpredictability and conflict between states; rising domestic tensions, extremism and terrorism; and increasingly fragile economic systems and supply chains.
