Now more than ever, business leaders need to consider a multitude of issues linked to 'sustainable development' when managing their organisation.
As stakeholders increasingly demand greater accountability from organisations to address their environmental and social impacts, sustainability-related performance is now acknowledged as an integral aspect of business – with a failure to do so putting an organisation’s future at risk.
The Graduate Certificate of Sustainable Business is designed to equip business professionals with the skills to address sustainability-related challenges in an increasingly socially and environmentally conscious business climate. Completing this course prepares you to enter or advance in the fields of socially responsible investment, business continuity, and governance and assurance.

Studying this course will expose you to real-life sustainable business issues. Industry experts, such as sustainability managers and top executives, will deliver keynote presentations, providing you with the opportunity to interact with them and share your views on emerging issues related to business sustainability. This course is designed to develop your ability to critically reflect on organisational business policies, strategies, and reporting related to sustainability issues. You'll complete this course equipped with knowledge on achieving economic development while protecting the environment, respecting the needs of current and future generations, and promoting sustainable development.
You'll have the opportunity to explore sustainable development across different organisations and examine how various stakeholders can contribute to promoting sustainable development. In addition, this course helps you develop skills to critically assess organisational operations and present solutions using effective written and oral communication, combining your technical knowledge with the ability to research problems related to implementing sustainable practices.

Entry requirements
Applicants with higher education study
To be eligible for an offer, applicants must have:
- A completed AQF7 bachelor's degree or above, or approved equivalent#, in any discipline.
Applicants with work experience
To be eligible for an offer, applicants must have:
- Qualifications, relevant work experience or other special circumstances, as approved by the College Executive Dean or delegated authority.
You must provide evidence to support your application on the basis of work experience, in particular a copy of your CV demonstrating your work experience, and letters of reference from line managers or similar to confirm your work experience. In the case of applicants who have worked as a sole trader or consultant, additional evidence to support the level of experience must be provided.
#An equivalent qualification from an overseas institution as assessed by the University with reference to the equivalencies identified by the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR).

English Language Requirements
International students must also provide evidence that they have met the minimum English Language Test Score requirements for Postgraduate coursework programs as published in the University’s English Language Requirements. These tests must have been completed in the 24 months preceding the application date.
Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Business (C5Q) are eligible for 50 credit points (4 units) into a non-specialised MBA (Global).
Fees & scholarships
Domestic students
Commonwealth supported places (CSP) are available for this course. For eligible domestic students, this means your fees will be subsidised by the Australian Government. You’ll only need to pay the student contribution amount for each unit you study within the course.

HECS-HELP loans
You may be able to defer payment of the student contribution amount by accessing a HECS-HELP loan from the Government. If eligible, you’ll only have to pay your tuition fees once you start earning above a specific amount.
