Overview
The Amber Weatherstone Memorial Scholarship was established by the graduating Medicine class of 2005, together with Amber’s family, to remember an active and much loved student in our School whose aspirations to practice in the sports medicine area were never to be realised.
In collaboration with the Department of Sports Medicine at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, a University of Tasmania student receiving the Amber Weatherstone Memorial Scholarship will spend up to five weeks in the Department of Sports Medicine at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra to gain a greater insight and understanding of the discipline.
Eligibility
- The scholarship will assist a fourth year University of Tasmania medical student, who wishes to undertake an elective in the sports medicine area.
- Applicants will need to:
- Demonstrate ongoing interest and/or involvement in Sports Medicine and/or sporting pursuits;
- Describe how time spent in the Department of Sports Medicine at the Australian Institute of Sport will contribute to their future medical career aspirations;
- Indicate how they would be a good ambassador for the School of Medicine while working in Canberra.
