The Schools Recommendation Program gives Year 12 students the chance to secure an early offer for up to five courses so you can finish school with peace of mind. Choose from double degrees, undergraduate programs, and flexible pathways to plan ahead and focus on what matters most.
Some competitive courses, like Medicine, aren’t part of early offers, but you can still include them for assessment after ATAR results. And if things don’t go as planned, pathway programs like the Diploma of University Studies are here to help you reach your goals.

How to apply
We’ve made applying through the Schools Recommendation Program simple. Just follow these easy steps:
- Step 1: Choose up to five course(s)
- Step 2: Check the course guide for any prerequisites
- Step 3: Apply for an early offer on the application portal
- Step 4: Apply for scholarships
- Step 5: Accept your offer
Note: Domestic applications for Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine open on 1 August and close on 30 September 2026. All applicants require a valid UCAT ANZ score. Groups of applicants with the same ATAR will be ranked by using the UCAT ANZ score as a secondary ranking method.
Offers made simple
Through the Schools Recommendation Program, you can receive multiple offers and take your time deciding what’s right for you. Offers are assessed holistically, considering more than just your ATAR. We consider Year 11 results, your capabilities, and insights from teachers who know your strengths best.

Here’s what matters most:
- Offers are made in rounds- There are three rounds of offers that occur between September and October. Check out the timeline here to see what round your offer will be sent in: Early Offer Timeline (PDF 204.6 KB)
- How many offers can I receive – You can receive an offer for every course you have applied for, meaning you may receive five to keep your options open.
- How many can I accept – Secure your place now by logging into the application portal and accepting all of your offers. You can choose your final course later when you enrol in December.
- Conditions apply – You must complete Year 12 and meet any prerequisites. These will be outlined in your offer letter. Book an appointment with us if you have any questions or need any support.
Next steps – When you accept your offers you will receive your university login details. You will need these to enrol in your chosen course from mid-December after Year 12 results are released.
Enrolment and deferral
Once your Year 12 results are in, you’ll be ready to take the next step. Here’s what you need to know:
- Enrol from mid-December – We’ll email you when enrolments open, and our Accepting and Enrolling page will guide you through each step.
- Plan ahead now – Use our unit selection guide to familiarise yourself with the subjects you want to study.
- Deferral options –You can request a deferral for your course through the application portal if eligible.
Deferral validity – Approved deferrals are valid for one year.

How to apply
We’ve made applying for an early university offer through the Schools Recommendation Program simple. Just follow these easy steps:
- Step 1: Choose your course(s)
- Step 2: Check the course guide for any prerequisites
- Step 3: Apply for an early offer on the application portal
- Step 4: Get your school career advisor to complete the International Student Rubric (PDF 128.8 KB)
- Step 5: Accept your offer
The program is open to nearly all CRICOS registered courses. This includes undergraduate degrees and associate degrees.
- Courses in Medicine work differently. Entry to these courses is very competitive, so an early offer is not available. However, we still encourage you to apply as part of your Schools Recommendation Program application.
You will be assessed for these preferences once your year 12 results is released and will not be assessed through the early offer program. You may still receive early offers to other preferences you have included.
In the meantime, we encourage you to apply for any other courses you’re interested in. You can apply for two in total.
We have a range of on-campus accommodation available. From self-contained apartments, shared apartments and communal living colleges, there's something for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
To be eligible for the Schools Recommendation Program, you must:
- Be in your final year of secondary education (Year 12)
- Be completing a Certificate of Education or the International Baccalaureate (IB)
If you don’t meet these criteria, you may be offered a pathway program to help you transition into your chosen bachelor’s degree.
International students: If you currently reside in Australia on a temporary visa, you may still be eligible.
- Bachelor of Medical Sciences and Doctor of Medicine
- Paramedicine
Entry to these courses is very competitive, so an early offer is not available. However, we still encourage you to apply as part of your Schools Recommendation Program application. You will be assessed for these courses once your ATAR is released. You may still receive early offers to other courses you have included.
The Schools Recommendation Program is an alternative entry pathway that works alongside your ATAR and Certificate of Education. We recommend continuing your planned studies, your ATAR can open more course options and qualify you for merit-based scholarships.

Some courses require specific Year 12 subjects (prerequisites), which will be outlined in your offer letter. If you’re missing a prerequisite, we offer foundation units to help you catch up. For creative courses like Music, Fine Arts, or Theatre and Performance, you may need to provide a portfolio or complete an online audition.

Due to Australian privacy laws, if a parent/guardian is not listed as an authorised person on the application, unfortunately we will not be permitted to disclose any information. Applicants (year 12 students) can contact the university to request a ‘consent to release’ form.
This must be completed by a parent/guardian, then signed by the student and returned to the University. This will then be stored on file and both the student and his or her nominees can discuss the application with the University.
