University Club

A welcoming place for members, alumni, and the University community to connect, dine, and gather.

Located on Dobson Road at the Sandy Bay campus, the University Club provides a warm and inviting space to connect, unwind, and enjoy quality food and coffee.

Whether you’re stopping in for a morning brew, meeting colleagues over lunch, or hosting a gathering, the Club offers a comfortable setting for the University community.

Breakfast and barista-made coffee are available from 8.30 am, with lunch service from 11.45 am>. The kitchen operates until 2.15 pm.

Membership

Membership is open to University staff, Honours and graduate students, visitors, and others associated with the University. As a non‑profit incorporated association, the club is run for the benefit of its members and continues to be a valued part of campus life.

Partners of members can also join the club. Many members continue their membership well after they retire from employment at the University.

Download and complete a membership application form (PDF 1.4 MB), then email it to the Membership Officer. You can contact the Membership Officer with any enquiries about new or current membership.

Members MUST sign in guests to use the Club's facilities while in their presence.

Events

June happy hour

The Club will be hosting its June Happy Hour on Thursday 25th, commencing at 4:30.

There will be reduced-price drinks between 4:30 and 5:30 and hot snacks will be available. We would love to see you and your friends and colleagues. We particularly would like to extend an invitation to any staff who are new to the Sandy Bay campus.

The University Club organises several events throughout the year for members and their guests. Invitations are forwarded to all members via email and posted on the University Club Facebook page (opens in a new window).

Committee

The University Club is run by a volunteer Committee that manages the business and its activities. The Committee is elected annually by the members.

Committee meetings are held monthly. If you would like relevant University Club business considered by the Committee at the next meeting, please email the Presidentt, Rodney Foley.

Annual General Meeting, 2026

The AGM of the University Club will be held in the Alan Bray room and via Zoom in late September. The meeting will elect new office bearers and approve the appointment of an auditor. All members are welcome to attend and there will be refreshments provided. Full details will be available closer to the meeting.

As all positions will become vacant, all financial members of the University Club are encouraged to nominate for the 2026 - 2027 University Club Committee.
