The Dr Garry Davidson Memorial Prize in Earth Sciences was established through the generosity of Garry's family and friends to honour his memory and the extraordinary impact he had on his students.
As a founding member of the Centre for Ore Deposit and Earth Sciences (CODES), Garry was renowned not only for his contributions to research, but also for his ability to educate, encourage, entertain, and inspire those around him. His passion for geology was infectious, and his influence continues through the many students whose lives and careers he shaped.
Since its establishment, the prize has been awarded to ten outstanding Earth Sciences students. We now seek to build on this legacy by growing the fund into an endowed scholarship that will provide ongoing support to future students and help ensure that financial barriers do not limit their passion, potential, or opportunity to study Earth Sciences.
Our goal is to establish a scholarship in perpetuity that will provide a commencing student with support throughout their undergraduate degree. Every donation, large or small, brings us closer to making this vision a reality.
Thank you for helping honour Garry's legacy and supporting the next generation of Earth Sciences students.
