Tasmania's West Coast has hosted key industries for over a century and, given the energy transition and demand for base metals , itis likely to experience increased investment in coming years.
The TPE has worked with the West Coast Council to understand challenges and opportunities for this area into the future, including the impacts of drive-in/drive-out workers and the effects of population churn.
Above all, our work argues that a long-term collaborative approach to investing in community infrastructure will be required to enhance the liveability of the West Coast and the long-term viability of the industries it supports.
