Trauma Aware Communities Summit
In February 2025, the Director of TILES was one of the lucky few to be invited to contribute to the Trauma Aware Communities Summit, organised by TILES friend and colleague Peter Miller and Intergenerational Trauma Aware Geelong - in-TAG.
Tasmania Police has embraced #traumainformedpolicing, and the team at TILES UTAS and University of Tasmania have been working closely with colleagues in Tasmania Police (particularly Joanne Stolp APM) to build a police and first-responder specific trauma-informed message, training and research program since 2023. This program is currenlty under evaluation. After talking about the same topic at the CSKA Canada and Canadian Police Knowledge Network research symposium, Professor Bartkowiak-Théron shared further on this program of education and research at the July 2025 Global Law Enforcement and Public Health Association (GLEPHA) conference in Ottawa.
