Course options

These courses are fully nested, so you can start with the six-month Graduate Certificate in Urban Planning, progress to the one-year Graduate Diploma of Environmental Planning, and then upskill to the two-year Master of Planning.

The Graduate Certificate gives you essential skills in urban planning, including the statutory land use planning unit, providing a strong foundation for understanding how planning systems work in practice. It’s ideal if you’re seeking a shorter qualification or a pathway to further study.

The Graduate Diploma builds on this knowledge, offering a solid theoretical and practical understanding of planning, with both a theory unit and a statutory unit to make you employment-ready. The Master of Planning adds a research component and a semester-long professional placement, allowing you to deepen your expertise and specialise in areas such as urban greening, climate action, and social justice.

The courses offer flexibility, particularly for students with prior work experience.
