Unigym is a multi-purpose fitness centre located on the University of Tasmania Sandy Bay, Newnham and Cradle Coast campuses.
The centres provide health and fitness services and sporting facilities for use by community members as well as University of Tasmania students and staff.
JOIN OUR ONLINE CLASSES WHILE WE ARE CLOSED!
As of April 1 2020, we have moved online with a virtual timetable. This means that familiar faces will be running live sessions online for you to join in on at home. Streamed on the Zoom video platform, these classes will cater for all physical activity levels. Classes will be reviewed and updated every 2 weeks, so keep checking to make sure you are up to date.
Weights and Cardio
The Unigym weights/cardio rooms offer a full range of equipment for your cardio and weights workout including dedicated squat racks, kettlebells, upright bikes, treadmills, crosstrainers, free weight dumbbells up to 50kg and much more.

Step 1: Click on a class to join a session
Step 2: You will be prompted to download Zoom. This is a requirement to join the class. If you already have Zoom, you will automatically join the class and you’ll be ready to start exercising!

By participating in Unigym’s virtual classes, you agree that you are responsible for exercising at a level that is suitable to you – particularly if you have a history of health problems or any previous injuries and will follow any medical advice you have obtained.
ATB (Abs, Thighs and Butts) designed to strengthen, tone and shape the glutes, hamstrings, quads and core.
CORE This program is designed to get a tight and toned core. With dynamic training that hones in on your abs, glutes, back, and obliques.
FREESTYLE AEROBICS Including different levels of movement. You’ll start with gentle, low-intensity warm-up exercises, and gradually work up to high-intensity exercises that will help you burn calories.
GAC General Athletic Conditioning: AMRAPS/ EMOMS/Ladders/Circuits
HIIT High intensity interval training, 3 minute work with 1- minute recovery - 5 rounds
MEDITATION Relax and rejuvenate with a calming, settling meditation.
ONLINE WORKOUT Do it at your own pace, and at your own time. Delivered with minimal to no equipment required! These will not be delivered on zoom. Instead, uploaded to our Instagram and Facebook channels.
PILATES will help build strength, endurance and flexibility while improving your balance and core.
YOGA Great for increasing flexibility and balance, relieving stress and promoting relaxation.
ZUMBA fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away!
