TASC Recognition

The Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards & Certification (TASC), recognises AMEB qualifications on the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE).

This means that students in Years 11 and 12 at school/college can have their qualification recorded on their Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) for the following Grades:

  • AMEB Grade 4 Practical and above (includes Classical, Rockschool, and Speech and Drama Syllabuses)
  • AMEB Grade 2 Written and above
  • AMEB CPM Advancing Step 2 and above (to end of 2020 only)

These grades include Recorded Exams and Repertoire Syllabuses. These accreditations are just as stringently moderated as our Comprehensive Exams and, therefore, are of equal standing.

To attain the TCE Certificate, students need to gain 120 points. The AMEB qualifications listed above can contribute to these points. Furthermore, AMEB qualifications that have been completed prior to Years 11 and 12 may still be counted towards your score.

Update your own TCE records with a past AMEB exam

To assist you in obtaining these points, and to ensure we adhere to our privacy policies, AMEB provide an annual report to TASC to confirm the successful exam candidates throughout the year. Before doing so, we ask candidates for authorisation prior to providing their qualifications and personal details (eg date of birth) to the Office of TASC. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact the AMEB Tasmania office.
