TASC Recognition

The Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards & Certification (TASC), recognises AMEB qualifications on the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE).

To attain the TCE Certificate, students need to gain 120 points. The AMEB qualifications listed above can contribute to these points. Furthermore, AMEB qualifications that have been completed prior to Years 11 and 12 may still be counted towards your score.

This means that students in Years 11 and 12 at school/college can have their qualification recorded on their TCE for the following AMEB exams:

  • Grade 4 Practical and above
  • Grade 2 Theory and above

All AMEB syllabuses are applicable across Classical (including for Leisure), Rockschool, Speech & Drama, PAA, and Media genres.  That's now 70 different exams that could earn you points toward your TCE! Each practical exam can be taken as face-to-face or video, in either Comprehensive or Repertoire Syllabuses, and theory exams are available both online and paper-based, offering you even more flexibility than ever before. All AMEB accreditations are stringently moderated and relevant TASC points are summarised below.

To have your AMEB results included as points toward your TCE, simply tick the box and provide relevant Candidate details during enrolment - we'll do the rest for you!

We report exam results to TASC at the beginning of December each year. If you have missed this deadline, or have changed your mind and want to include a previous exam result, you can get in touch with TASC directly to manage your own points. If you need to add or update your enrolment details prior to our December report, please contact the AMEB Tasmania team.

Update your own TCE records with a past AMEB exam

To assist you in obtaining these points, and to ensure we adhere to our privacy policies, AMEB provide an annual report to TASC to confirm the successful exam candidates throughout the year. We ask Account Holders to authorise us to share these details, prior to providing the Candidate's qualifications and personal details (eg date of birth) to the Office of TASC. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact the AMEB Tasmania office. Any queries relating to TCE points should be directed to TASC. For privacy reasons, TASC will only share information regarding points and TCE status with the TCE student themselves.
