2021 Exam Session Dates are now available and enrolments are open.
What's new this year?
Well, firstly, we're really looking forward to the return of face-to-face exams across the North West. Yay!
Of course, all exam planning comes with the usual caveats that restrictions don't increase. That being said, if you don't feel comfortable to (or simply are unable) attend an exam centre in person for any reason, Recorded Exams will be available across all sessions.
Other than that, there are really just a few tweaks. Last year worked really well for most of you (so far as we can tell amidst the COVID chaos). Thanks to everyone who provided feedback at the end of last year. We've incorporated everything we could to make an even better plan for the months ahead. Here are the key changes.
CLOSING DATES
The large sessions need quite a bit of lead time both in order to get them scheduled and also to provide you with at least 4 weeks' notice. However, for the smaller sessions, you told us that less notice was needed because you knew your exams would be across the specified weekend. That makes a lot of sense to us so we've brought the closing dates closer to those session to give you a bit more time to prepare.
SESSION 1
Due to the very early Easter weekend and school holiday dates, this has moved into March. It was either that or wait until May so we're grateful to those of you we quickly polled for your sound advice on this one.
Diploma Candidates (instruments other than piano) should contact the office to enrol.
BURNIE
A number of you requested this so we've added an extra session in August (Session 3) for Burnie piano exams. These will include all grades from P Plate Piano up to Certificate of Performance.
SESSIONS 4 & 5
These were Sessions 3 and 4 in 2020 but we've slotted in the extra Burnie weekend so hopefully the new numbers won't be too confusing.
Session 4, Diploma Candidates (instruments other than piano) should contact the office to enrol.
SESSION 5
It seems that number of you really liked the later exam dates last year, in particular the week in December. Finishing this late presents a few challenges for us in getting reports and certificates to you before the end of the year so, as a compromise, we've extended this session by one week to better accommodate those TCE students.
RECORDED EXAMS OUT OF SESSION
If you have a cohort of students wanting to do Recorded Exams, please get in touch. We might be able to organise an extra date just for you. Minimum numbers will be required and this will be subject to our capacity to support you at the time.
THEORY EXAMS
Our online theory exam library continues to grow and more Speech and Performance exams are coming very soon. The trial of our "new" paper-based exams will be extended through this year.
PERFORMANCE ARTS AWARDS
The Examiner comes to you! Please get in touch if you'd like your crew to do their PAA exam and we'll work with you to schedule this at a time that suits.
