Driving economic growth with innovation

University of Tasmania and Oxford University alumnus, Rhys Edwards, was guest speaker at the University of Tasmania's 40+ Club Luncheon in December 2025, celebrating members of the University's alumni community who graduated 40 years ago or more. Rhys is Principal of RDME Consulting, a Director of Aurora Energy and the Blue Economy CRC, and has held the role of Chair of the Board of InVent, the University of Tasmania's research commercialisation arm, since 2016. His speech at the 40+ Club Luncheon focused on the importance of embracing bold, disciplined strategies to drive economic growth and manage major transitions like climate, AI, and demographic change for our island.
