If you are a professional engineer with a 4-year bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline, this program will change the course of your career.
You will study a wide range of subjects relevant to the development and procurement of maritime engineering systems. Specialisations include Naval Engineering, Maritime Technology Management and Maritime Design. Each of these programs are aimed at engineering professionals already in the workforce, but with limited exposure to the maritime engineering sector.
Our graduates secure employment in advanced technical and management roles in maritime engineering. All programs lead to greater employment and higher degree study opportunities through industry relevant research projects.
Our specialist coursework is designed by experienced maritime engineers and researchers. Delivered through interactive online study resources, this course provides a flexible learning mode for students who wish to continue working while studying. In addition, some units are also available for on-campus study.

Master of Engineering (Maritime Design)
Course objectives
These postgraduate maritime engineering programs provide engineering graduates with in-depth exposure to a wide range of subjects relevant to the development and procurement of marine systems.
The Naval Engineering specialisation enables students to develop their maritime engineering knowledge in areas related to marine vessels or submarines.
All programs lead on to greater employment and higher degree study opportunities through industry relevant research projects.
Career outcomes
The Master of Maritime Engineering degree is targeted at engineering professionals already in the workforce, who wish to pursue, or develop a career in the technical management of maritime engineering projects.

Entry requirements
Eligibility
Admission to the Master of Maritime Engineering (Naval Engineering) is a full four year Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree, or equivalent.
For international students, English language requirements are at least an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no band less than 6.0).
Fees & scholarships
Domestic students
Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.
Detailed tuition fee information for domestic students is available at the Domestic Student Fees website, including additional information in relation to a compulsory Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
Domestic students enrolled in certain postgraduate coursework programs may not be eligible for student payments through Youth Allowance and Austudy. Visit the Department of Social Services website to find out more about eligibility for Centrelink support and the list of eligible courses
International students
2020 Total Course Fee (international students): $ 48,560 AUD *.
Course cost based on a rate of $32,000 AUD per standard, full-time year of study (100 credit points).

International students
Fees for domestic students are based on individual unit selections. Please refer to the fees section of each unit description to work out an indicative annual cost. This course is offered on a full fee paying basis to Domestic students.
International students are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the annual rate. International students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.
