This course, which is normally undertaken in part-time mode and articulates from the GradCertGIS, is designed for graduates wishing to obtain complementary skills and knowledge of spatial sciences, particularly in the fields of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing.

The objective of the GradDipSpSc is to equip students with:

- specialist theoretical knowledge of the spatial sciences, particularly in the fields of GIS and Remote Sensing 
- advanced technical skills, particularly in the fields of GIS and Remote Sensing 
- cognitive skills to review, analyse, consolidate and synthesise knowledge and to identify potential solutions to spatial data acquisition, management, analysis and visualisation problems 
- communication skills to present clear and coherent exposition of knowledge and ideas to a variety of audiences.

Entry requirements

Australian Bachelor's degree in any discipline or other tertiary qualifications deemed by theUniversity to be equivalent

Candidates who complete the Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (S5A) can progress to the Graduate Diploma by completing the 50% Project unit (in part-time or full-time mode).

Fees & scholarships

Domestic students

Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.
