Summary:Guest speaker Distinguished Professor Jamie Kirkpatrick, University of Tasmania
If you can't attend the in-person Biodiversity Day BioBlitz (and especially if you can) join the virtual biodiversity citizen science information night on Friday May 21.
Hear from Clare Hawking about the importance of citizen science through her work at the Bookend Trust and from Distinguished Professor Jamie Kirkpatrick about his current research at the University.
The night will also include a tutorial on how to use the iNaturalist App, a global citizen science database for wildlife. You will then be able to use the App from home or within your local area to identify and record wildlife you see. If you are heading to campus you can record your sightings for the University by joining the 'UTAS wildlife on campus' project in iNaturalist.
