In this inspirational yarn, pakana man Brendan Murray reflects on his journey from illiterate adult to tertiary student, studying a bachelor degree a the University of Tasmania, and considers the importance of education, culture and resilience in the context of living in contemporary Tasmania.

Brendan Murray is a student engagement officer at riawunna. The University of Tasmania's riawunna team is focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student success, providing a culturally welcoming space for Aboriginal students to study, access academic and cultural support and be part of a dynamic community of learners.

This event will be held at the Cradle Coast Campus in Burnie and will also be streamed live via Zoom (the link is provided in the Eventbrite listing).

This event will be also be presented in Smithton on Tuesday 9th November, 5.30-7pm at the Study Hub Circular Head, 12 Nelson Street, Smithton. For details, go to the Smithton event Eventbrite listing.
