Unique Tassie Experiences: kunanyi/Mt Wellington After Dark (South)

🌌 Join us at the Springs on kunanyi / Mt Wellington to learn about our southern stars and unique nocturnal wildlife 🦘
In the care of experienced guides, you’ll navigate the web of trails, listen to a mountain of stories and take in the epic views. We know why it’s the top of Hobart attractions.

🗺️ Destination: Kunanyi/Mt Wellington

What to expect?
💫 We will take a short walk to do some wildlife spotting, where we regularly see pademelons, micro bats and possums.
💫 Then we'll go inside the hut with the fire burning and make some hot drinks and have some sweet treats.
💫 We will spend most of the time stargazing aided by a high powered laser pointer.
💫 You are encouraged to download the "Sky tonight" app on your phone to help improve the experience.
💫 We will explore the southern night sky, starting with the Moon and our solar system.
💫 Depending on the time of year we may be able to see other planets in our solar system.
💫 Then we’ll look further out to the milky way and into deep space.
💫 If you're lucky we may get to see the nuyina / aurora.

Itinerary (to be confirmed via email before tour date):
Date: Friday, 24 May 2024
🔹 7.45 pm: Depart TUSA building
🔹 9.45 pm: Return to Sandy Bay
🔹 10.00 pm: University Accommodations on Brisbane St.

What to bring:
👉 Drink bottle
👉 Warm layers (including beanie, gloves, scarf, etc)
👉 Comfortable walking shoes
👉 Binocular (optional)

🤝 Only under our UTE program, ticket is $30 for the entire experience (normally values at over $100)

*Important note: There is a risk of cancellation with this tour due to weather conditions. If the activity is cancelled for any reason by TUSA, all tickets will be refunded.
