The Behavioural and Clinical Neuropsychology Research Group
The Behavioural and Clinical Neuropsychology Research Laboratory group specialises in the study of clinical conditions for which neuropsychological functioning may be compromised.
Clinical populations currently being examined by the Behavioural and Clinical Neuropsychology group include individuals with an acquired brain injury (e.g., traumatic brain injury, stroke), multiple sclerosis, dementia, chronic fatigue, drug/alcohol abuse and anxiety disorders (e.g., phobias). We are also interested in the effect of demographic and behavioural factors on psycho-social and cognitive outcome, including acute alcohol intoxication, medicinal and recreational drug use, and age-related changes. We also investigate how people make decisions when provided with genetic information in various applied settings (eg health-related decision making, and forensic decision making).
Expertise
- Clinical neuropsychology
- Assessment of cognition and outcomes
- Detection of biological markers including: genetic markers (e.g. ApoE and BDNF), biometabolites, and event-related potentials
- Behavioural genetics and decision making
- Test and questionnaire development
- Multi-level modelling, Rasch analysis, and structural equation modelling
