Introduction
A candidate who has completed the Third Examination of the Bachelor of Agricultural Science with sufficient merit will be invited by the Head of School to enrol for the degree of Bachelor of Agricultural Science with Honours.
Admission & Prerequisites
Prospective Honours students must gain a minimum 65% credit average in year 3 of the BAgrSc course. Eligible students will be notified of their acceptance following publication of year-3 results.
Course Objectives
The BAgrSc(Hons) program aims to provide:
- Advanced knowledge and scientific training in a specialised area of agricultural science;
- Training in research as preparation for employment in a research organisation or for postgraduate study in Master or PhD programs.
Career Outcomes
Students are well prepared for employment in research and other positions with industry, government and business organisations. An Honours degree also enables graduates to apply to undertake a Masters or PhD degree.
Articulation to/from Course
Candidates with other tertiary studies may be granted status for work completed and deemed appropriate to this degree.
Honours graduates may apply for entry into a Masters or PhD degree.
Professional Recognition
Graduates of the course are eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology (AIAST)
