The University of Tasmania and the Australian College of Perioperative Nurses (ACORN) have partnered together to offer postgraduate qualifications on a scholarship basis to ACORN members.

As a member of ACORN, you are eligible to receive a scholarship for a range of study options including Perioperative Nursing, Clinical Nursing and Teaching, and Leadership.

Courses

The University of Tasmania’s postgraduate courses are designed to challenge, develop and extend your professional and clinical practice skills. All courses are developed in line with current industry needs, and the latest research in the particular field of study. We are focussed on transforming healthcare – join us.

Postgraduate Nursing Specialisations

Our postgraduate nursing program is designed for practicing Registered Nurses who would like to specialise in a particular area of clinical practice. The courses are delivered part-time and online, providing you the flexibility required to balance work, study and family life.

As an ACORN member you are eligible to enrol in the Bachelor of Nursing with Professional Honours (Specialisation) H4F, and will be given the option to graduate with:

  • Graduate Certificate in Nursing (Specialisation) H5F;
  • Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Specialisation) H6F; or
  • Bachelor of Nursing with Professional Honours (Specialisation) H4F.

Successful completion of H4F or H6F will enable you to articulate to a Masters program, should you wish to continue your higher education studies.

As a member of ACORN, you are eligible to study the following specialisations within the Bachelor of Nursing with Professional Honours (Specialisation) H4F on 100% scholarship if you begin your study in Semester 2, 2018. [1] This is the last opportunity for ACORN members to enrol in this program with a full scholarship. Specialisations available to ACORN members under this scholarship are:

  • Perioperative Nursing [2]
  • Leadership in Practice [2]
  • Clinical Nursing and Teaching

Each of these programs articulate to a coursework Graduate Diploma or Masters program, should you wish to continue your higher education studies.

Postgraduate Leadership Program

Our postgraduate leadership program is designed to enhance the professional skills of health and human services professionals, clinical leaders, managers and policy/planning practitioners working, or aspiring to work in, leadership or management positions within the health and human services sectors in Australia.

As an ACORN member you are eligible to enrol in the Bachelor of Health and Human Services (Leadership) Professional Honours M4Z, and will be given the option to graduate with:

  • Graduate Certificate in Leadership (Health and Human Services) M5S,
  • Graduate Diploma in Leadership (Health and Human Services) M6S; or
  • Bachelor of Health and Human Services (Leadership) Professional Honours M4Z.

Successful completion of M4Z or M6S will enable you to articulate to a Masters program, should you wish to continue your higher education studies.

As a member of ACORN, you are eligible to study the M4Z Bachelor of Health and Human Services (Leadership) Professional Honours on a 50% scholarship if you begin your study in Semester 2, 2018. [1]

Notes:

[1] Scholarships advertised here are for students commencing study in Semester 2, 2018 only. To be eligible for these scholarships you must demonstrate ACORN membership, accept your offer and enrol in units for study in Semester 2, 2018.

[2] The Perioperative Nursing specialisation must be studied in sequence and therefore cannot be commenced in Semester 2. Students can however, begin studying elective units in Semester 2. The Leadership in Practice specialisation does not have a Semester 2 intake at this time.

In addition to this, to be eligible for an ACORN member scholarship you will also need to be a current member of ACORN. Proof of membership will be required upon application to this program – please contact ACORN for a proof of membership letter.

Please note, scholarship supported places for all courses are only available to permanent residents of Australia.
