2022 Venue COVID Vaccine Requirements

Please note that some of our venues are mandating up to date vaccine status for anyone in attendance. Here's how that may apply to you and how you can best prepare for your exam.

We will ensure you are advised of any changes as early as possible and we will continue to offer flexibility wherever practicable. Exam day attendee numbers will continue to be kept to a minimum, and those who attend will be required to adhere to our Pandemic Processes. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support of these precautions and requirements.

AMEB is strongly committed to the health and safety of our team and our community and we continue to adhere to all relevant Government and health instructions in the best interests of that objective. We are not taking a standpoint on vaccinations but do need to adhere to venue requirements in order to continue offering exams through the pandemic. If we request additional details, it is to better understand the situation in order to ensure those venue requirements are met, we can complete relevant risk assessments and employ risk mitigation strategies, and manage exam days to best support everyone's safety.

Please understand that some of our Examiners have indicated concern for their own health (and those close to them who remain high risk) regarding examining unvaccinated Candidates. In the event that we don't have sufficient Examiners prepared to attend a non-mandating venue, exams may be held in an alternative venue, which may be a vaccine mandating venue. If this occurs, we will contact all Candidates to discuss options, including transferring to a Video Exam or defer until such time as both venue and Examiner are available.

WHAT WILL THIS MEAN FOR ME?

Each venue's requirements are outlined below. Exam Notifications will include instructions for your exam venue. Enrollers are responsible for ensuring this information is shared with anyone attending on the day.

*Vaccinated = up to date with vaccinations (previously known as "fully vaccinated"). This includes all vaccination doses for which you are eligible at the time of the exam. Anyone who holds a valid, documented medical exemption is considered "vaccinated" for the purposes of this information. Only those who are eligible to be vaccinated (eg persons aged 5 and above) must comply with vaccination requirements. Anyone who is not yet eligible for an upcoming dose will need to have made an appointment for that dose, and will be required to note the date of booking in the declaration form (eg they have received the first dose but the required gap before the second is yet to pass). If you're unsure, have a read of ATAGI's definitions.

**Guest = guest of the venue, which refers to all exam day attendees. This could include (but is not limited to) Candidates, accompanists, accompanying adults, teachers, and AMEB personnel.

The vaccine declaration form is no longer required for exam day attendees. Huge thanks to everyone for your continued support and efforts in helping us manage the various and constantly changing conditions.

ALTERNATIVES

Please note that we are not able to explore or provide other venues as alternatives for anyone unable or unwilling to comply with these venue requirements.

If none of our regular venues support your needs, you always have the option of undertaking a Video Exam. We also recognise that there are a host of reasons why people may need to isolate throughout the pandemic so Video Exams continue to be offered as an alternative "venue" throughout 2022. We strongly encourage you to have a look at these exam options and the process involved, which can be found here. If your tech knowledge is your main concern with Video Exams, please have a chat with us - we are very happy to help with explaining the process and we've done a lot of work to provide step-by-step information to make the process as smooth as possible.

A reminder of our Private Venue feature released last year - teachers may prefer to host their exams at their own studio (minimum numbers required). Please have a read in the Teacher Handbook and contact the office for more details. Update: A new version of SCORE will be launching in July and will have this feature available within the system. Check our Facebook page after the new version is live or get in touch if you're interested.
