Students may be allocated to private and public pathology laboratories in New South Wales, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory. Students will be provided the opportunity to discuss their preferred placement locations and areas of clinical interest prior to confirmation of allocations.
Once the placement agency is confirmed, students will be advised of any additional pre-placement compliance requirements which may include jurisdiction-appropriate working with vulnerable children checks, further vaccination requirements, and/or completion of agency mandated pre-placement online training modules. The NSW PEP Team will provide students with information and assistance as required.
As placement approaches, students will receive information regarding each placement, placement locations and facility information. This information is provided via InPlace – student placement system.
PEP requires students to attend their allocated facility on a full-time basis. Due to workflow, students at times may be allocated to rostered shifts.
Accommodation
Where possible, the NSW PEP Team will provide information regarding accommodation for students relocating from Tasmania, however students are ultimately responsible for arranging their own accommodation. When seeking accommodation, students should carefully consider public transport and internet
