Interested in university?

There are many different reasons to go to university.

Some careers require a university qualification – for example, psychologists, architects, lawyers and teachers. University graduates have a much higher rate of employment and may receive better financial reward.

However, universities don't just provide training in specific careers. At university, students learn general skills that will equip them for the rapidly-changing world of work. University students learn how to think critically and flexibly and become self-disciplined; great assets for any future career.

University qualifications range from University Preparation Programs, Diplomas to Doctorate studies. At the University of Tasmania these qualifications can be obtained along with VET programs at the Australian Maritime College.

At the University of Tasmania, you will also find the University College. University College offers a range of programs that provide students with a pathway into a bachelor degree at the University of Tasmania or the qualification needed to progress in their current position or provide entry into industry.
