Students may also consider enrolment in the Intermediate equivalent FFX202 if their degree structure permits.
This unit is available as an elective Subject to enrolment quota.
This unit provides students with a theoretical and technical introduction to the design and production of textile structures that may be inspired by architectural and/or couture approaches. By constructing, deconstructing and reconstructing sculptural textile forms, students will reshape silhouette and investigate new ways of navigating the body through space. Innovative construction methods and materials will be studied to identify the place of textiles in contemporary art and its position as a medium for spatial form, with emphasis on investigative and explorative studio practices.
