Bachelor of Education with Professional Honours (Early Childhood) students will meet the following course objectives:
  • demonstrate educational knowledge and its application in the provision of effective education to their students, with a particular focus in early childhood education;
  • have ownership of a reasoned and critical perspective;
  • demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of research to evidence based practice; and
  • exhibit the ability to implement research findings in their area of interest or responsibility.

The units are offered externally on-line, web-based and negotiated study. 

NOTE: Course is not available to international students

Entry requirements

The University requires applicants for admission to the Bachelor of Education with Professional Honours (Early Childhood) degree to hold a Bachelor of Education or a degree in other discipline with a Diploma of Education, Bachelor of Teaching, or Master of Teaching, or to those holding equivalent qualifications.

If you've previously undertaken study overseas, please review our list of equivalent qualifications.

Full credit may be gained toward the Master of Education.

Fees & scholarships

Domestic students

Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.

Domestic students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place will be charged a fee based on the number of units a student enrols in. In 2018, this fee is $44.70 per unit. In 2018, the maximum charge for full time students is $298.
